  1. Only 40 of 2'326 providers have publicly listed an apartment today (1.7 %). Most cooperatives let without a listing.
  2. The waiting list status is publicly known for only 163 providers (7.0 %), of which 97 are open.
  3. Listed apartments go fast: half after 27 hours, 42 % within 24 hours (basis: 57 closed listings).

Method

The basis is our directory of non-profit housing providers in Switzerland (cooperatives, foundations and municipal providers, each confirmed as non-profit via an association, their purpose or the city). We read listings several times a day from the providers' websites and from portals. The figures are recalculated on every request.

Limits: a provider without a listing can still allocate apartments (internally, via waiting list). The waiting list status is only known where the provider publishes it. We only calculate median rent and duration once there are enough cases.
